Speaking during the launch of the second phase of the NYOTA program in Nakuru, Kindiki said that opposition leaders cannot compete with President William Ruto, citing the efforts he is making to improve the living conditions of young people across the country. He stressed that the government is investing in practical solutions that will allow thousands of young people to create sources of income, instead of relying on empty political rhetoric. «I see that there are people who are competing with President Ruto. There's nothing you can do about the kind of work the president does for young people. You can't just tell young people that your job is to use them to clap and make noise, and then compare yourself to President Ruto, who is doing everything he can to empower the people of Kenya», Kindiki said. He added that it is unwise to discourage young people from receiving government support without offering any alternative economic opportunities.

The Administration is focused on youth empowerment through direct financial assistance and entrepreneurship development. The Deputy President also disagreed with criticism that the 50,000 KSh support offered under the NYOTA program was too small to make a difference. He noted that although this amount may not solve all financial problems, it provides many young entrepreneurs with the capital they need to start or grow a small business.

The program demonstrates President Ruto's commitment to fighting youth unemployment by providing young people with the resources to become self-sufficient instead of depending on political handouts. Kindiki also suggested that those who criticize the initiative have failed to present decent alternatives to solve the problem of youth unemployment in the country. He insisted that the government's priority remains to create economic opportunities and support entrepreneurship among young people.

His remarks come as the government continues to implement the second phase of the NYOTA program, under which thousands of beneficiaries receive additional funding after successfully investing their initial grants. Kindiki's statement followed President William Ruto's announcement that the government would spend about 3 KSh billion to support more than 122,000 young entrepreneurs across the country through the Youth Entrepreneurship Empowerment program.

Speaking during the launch of the second tranche of NYOTA at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Langata, the President stated that the investments are aimed at strengthening youth-led businesses, creating employment opportunities and expanding entrepreneurship among young Kenyans. He called this program one of the largest coordinated investments in young entrepreneurs ever undertaken in the country. He noted that the combined payments would allow the government to channel almost 3 KSh billion into youth-owned businesses across Kenya. «We are going to spend about 3 KSh billion across Kenya to finance more than 122,000 young entrepreneurs», the president said.
