The Rwanda eKash electronic payment system has completed testing and entered commercial operation, which has allowed to optimize costs, eliminate obstacles to interoperability and create conditions for the development of fintech and small businesses.
Previously, residents of Rwanda had to wait in queues for a long time, have paper documents with them and visit many institutions to receive public services. Currently, operations such as issuing birth certificates, applying for a passport, paying for medical insurance, and registering for driver's exams are available online through IremboGov, a national digital platform launched in 2015. This transformation has significantly changed the interaction of citizens with the state: procedures have become less time-consuming, administrative barriers have been reduced, and the process of providing services has become more transparent.
The sixth round of work of the Joint Monitoring Committee (CPC) was held in London with the participation of the delegations of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, as well as representatives of the United States, Qatar and Togo, acting as mediator for the African Union, and members of the African Union Commission. At the end of the event, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening peace and stability in the eastern regions of the DRC.
