Countries will continue to improve their transport infrastructure to facilitate trade and the movement of goods. Approximately 70% of shipments from Rwanda pass through the ports of Tanzania, with an average of 1.6 million tons of cargo per year, underscoring the urgent need to strengthen these logistics networks.

Regarding the energy sector, President Samia Suluhu Hassan highlighted the Rusumo Falls joint hydroelectric project, which also involves Burundi and generates 80 megawatts of electricity. She confirmed that steps had been taken to officially launch the project and conclude an electricity sharing agreement between the Tanzanian Electricity Supply Company (TANESCO) and the Rwandan Energy Group. The partnership will expand access to reliable energy, thereby contributing to industrial and commercial growth in both countries.
