A key initiative is the desire to link the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) with the ports of Mombasa and Lamu, as well as to develop cargo air routes and, in the future, direct flights between Astana and Nairobi.

«Kazakhstan is interested in supplying agricultural products, primarily grain and other goods, to the African market. For this purpose, we have considered the possibility of using the port of Mombasa», - said the President of Kazakhstan.

The parties also discussed the supply of Kenyan products through Kazakhstan to the markets of Eurasia and put forward an initiative to create a Kazakhstan-Kenya Business Council.

«They stated the need to take trade and economic cooperation to a qualitatively new level and put forward an initiative to create a Kazakhstan-Kenya Business Council. This council will promote concrete projects and increase mutual trade», Tokayev said.

Separately, agriculture and trade were discussed: Kazakhstan proposed to increase grain exports, and Kenya proposed to increase the supply of tea, coffee and flowers, including the idea of a trade hub. Prospects for cooperation in the mining industry, digitalisation, AI and space technologies were also outlined.
